A sweet series on Netflix featuring a scavenger hunt love story with all the typical rom com ingredients, it has many good feels through the first half, and wraps things up nicely. If this were a movie, the sad parts would have been forgotten quickly, but with this episodic format we went to bed after one of the episodes that ends with things looking pretty dire for our couple to be.
Critics may point to the unrealistic teenage activities, mobility around NYC and all the other flaws that rom coms have, but the story is engaging with the scavenger hunt love story, waiting anxiously for the couple to meet, heartbreaking when the meeting ends in terrible disappointment, and exciting as the show reaches its sweet and unrealistic ending.
One takeaway for this family is to stay connected and don’t let issues linger, after seeing how Lily’s family falls apart, and is then restored after some direct and difficult communication, it was a nice side note to the main love story.
