This movie was…unexpectedly enjoyable. We didn’t really know what to think about a movie produced from The Secret organization, but Katie Holmes was pretty good as a single mom trying to hold things together, the children really make the movie fun and lovable, and the underlying “you can do anything you believe in” message really did feel good.
Throughout the movie there was this lingering mystery, this unseen “power” that Josh Lucas seems to have, called the “Law of Attraction” in The Secret universe. It doesn’t spoil the movie but adds a dimension that might not fit for everyone. In the end, it’s all about positive thinking and believing in yourself and those around you, which is a good a message as there is.
The movie included many of our Feel Good elements: love story, positive message, no violence, happy ending. There is heartache and doomed relationships as well to build the drama, and while this was not a great movie it did leave us feeling pretty good.
Feel Good Rating: 7.0
