Half traditional Cinderella story, half modern rom-com, Christmas Wish delivers some feel good moments, more cringe-worthy scenes, and several new, auto-tuned songs to boost your holiday spirit.
Our Cinderella is Kat, who lives with her step mom and step sisters, and of course does all the work in the house while the rest live on what should be her inheritance from her father. Kat also works as a singing elf at a holiday village, where she meets a cute new “Santa” who turns out to be the rich prince of her dreams. Kat is a songwriter and just needs a break to let her star shine, and she probably has a great voice but we couldn’t hear it through the auto tuned over production, but her Christmas themed songs for kids are a big hit.
Lots of awkwardness ensues with mean girls and a scheming stepmom, but like Cinderella stories or a good rom-com, everything falls apart right before everything comes together for a happy ending.
This movie had its rough patches but the overall good feels were strong, the main characters were cute together and the ending felt nice.
