Wow was this movie good! Kevin’s dad had invited us to watch the movie with him and he’s usually interested in feel good shows, so we were pretty excited to have the opportunity, but we had no idea it was going to end up like this! the premise is great, the execution was incredible, tons of laughs and good feels.
Everyone loves an underdog story, and this family who’s fishing business isn’t producing is perfect. They love each other, but are hampered by their trouble communicating with the hearing world, and as the lone hearing member of a deaf family, there’s a lot of expectations and baggage for our main character. But love and hard work always prevail, at least in the movies, and the film certainly won this family over. CODA, which is an acronym for Child of Deaf Adults, starred Emilia Jones, who was excellent, and Marlee Matlin, Oscar winner and frequent on The West Wing.
