A movie about quitting everyday life and leaving everything behind to travel across the land in a converted school bus, the premise had us hooked before we even started. Especially in the age of quarantines and shut downs, the escape to the road is compelling, as are the scenes from beautiful national parks in Canada and Alaska.
It wasn’t all fun for the German couple on this adventure, dealing with American officials and visas delayed and added cost to their trip, the bus had some mechanical issues, but worst of all was the health of their dog as they moved further and further south.
Good feelings came from the nice relationship and self sufficiency of the couple, the wonder of the adventure, and especially the love and hospitality that was shown to them in Mexico, but the movie created more of a longing wanderlust than a warm and fuzzy, but we enjoyed every minute of it.
